
FAYETTEVILLE, NC – Fayetteville police officers were called to a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred Sunday night, CBS17 reported.
The crash took place in the 1700 block of Pamalee Drive/U.S. 401, near Murchison Road. Investigators believe a motorcycle rider was speeding shortly before 9:40 p.m. and collided with a large above-ground water pipe.
Police arrived to find the motorcyclist in a wood line. Despite life-saving efforts by officers, the rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity was not immediately released.
