
RALEIGH, NC – Police said a hit-and-run collision in Raleigh on Sunday evening sent five people to area hospitals.
According to a CBS17 report, the two-vehicle crash took place in the 3400 block of New Hope Road just east of U.S. 1 at about 7:45 p.m. Investigators learned that a car struck another car, causing the second vehicle to flip and hit two adults and a child who were standing in their front yard.
Those three were taken the hospital with minor injuries. Two adults in the car that was hit were hospitalized with injuries that were not serious.
The driver of the first vehicle fled from the scene and is now being sought. So far no description of that car has been issued.
It took nearly two hours for police to clear the scene and conduct their investigation into the wreck.
