Motorcycle rider killed in collision with pickup truck in Moore County

CAMERON, NC – State troopers and emergency crews were dispatched to a fatal motorcycle collision in Moore County early Friday morning, CBS17 reports.

Authorities learned that a Yamaha motorcycle and a Ford F-150 pickup truck collided at the intersection of N.C. Highway 24-27 and Bass Road near US-1.  An initial investigation by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol found that the driver of the Ford was trying to make a left turn onto Bass Road at about 5:20 a.m. and struck the motorcycle as it headed west.

The motorcyclist, a 32-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the pickup was cited for the fatal accident.

N.C. 24-27 was shut down for nearly four hours while the wreck was being cleared and investigated.
