RALEIGH, NC – A multi-vehicle accident involving a tractor-trailer disrupted traffic in a portion of Wake County on Friday, reports CBS17.
A total of four vehicles were involved in the wreck, which occurred shortly after 6 p.m. on Interstate 440 west near Lake Boone Trail. Raleigh police said an 18-wheeler crashed into the back of an EMS truck, which then resulted in two other vehicles being struck. One of the workers in the EMS vehicle sustained minor injuries and was taken to an area hospital.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation said the right two lanes of the interstate were shut down past exit 5 for about two hours while the wreck was being cleared.
