Pedestrian dies after being struck by hit-and-run driver in Durham

DURHAM, NC – Authorities are trying to track down the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run incident in Durham last week, CBS17 reports.

The collision occurred late Thursday night on the 2600 block of East Geer Street.  An investigation by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol determined that a man was walking along the side of the road at about 11 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle.  The victim, a resident of Durham, died at the scene.

The vehicle state troopers are looking for is described as a silver 2007-2013 Toyota Tundra, which should have front-end damage on the passenger side.  Lanes were closed on East Geer Street while investigators worked at the scene.
